Busy week – started with the huge news of Google signing a $12.5 billion cheque for Motorola Mobility to strengthen its Android position (adding 17,000 patents to its portfolio in the process) and ending with the news of HP killing its mobile webOS platform – a mere 16 months after buying Palm – and looking to sell its PC business (which accounts for ~30% of the company’s revenues).
